The Saraaya Stay Guide

Stay in Nauhali & Plan Your Kareri Lake Trek

Nauhali offers a quieter setting for a mountain stay. Saraaya Glamps has four private Safari suites, forest surroundings and a nearby stream. Combine unhurried days here with a carefully planned Kareri Lake outing when local conditions allow.

Make Nauhali part of your stay

Enjoy the village setting beyond your suite: quiet mornings on the deck, a walk through the surrounding landscape or a hosted village visit. Ask the team which local paths suit your time, interests and walking ability.

Leave room in your itinerary to spend time here. Meals, guided walks and riverside setups should be arranged with the hosts, with inclusions and any additional charges agreed before booking.

Kareri Lake needs a separate trek plan

Kareri Lake is a mountain trekking destination in the Dhauladhar range, at approximately 2,934 metres. The Kangra district tourism guide describes an approach from Kareri village. Staying in Nauhali does not mean the lake is a short walk from your suite.

Before booking a trek, ask our hosts and a local guide to confirm the appropriate trailhead, transfers, walking time, permits if required, and your group's fitness. We do not quote an unverified distance from Saraaya Glamps to the trailhead.

Winter views, flexible plans

The district tourism guide notes that the lake can remain frozen from December into March or April. Snow and ice can change access and trail conditions; a lake trek should never be assumed to be available throughout winter.

Plan around current local advice and the weather for your dates. If a lake trek is unsuitable, ask about shorter village or forest walks instead. A guided activity is not automatically included with accommodation.

Prepare your stay and arrival

Share your dates, adult and child counts, preferred number of nights and trekking plans. Our team can coordinate your property arrival and discuss luggage arrangements, meal timings and any requests before an early start.

Saraaya Glamps is approximately 75 minutes by road from Dharamshala, depending on conditions. The final approach includes a 4x4 transfer and a short walk. Confirm the route and arrangements before travelling.
